How to Write a CCTV Installation Quotation (With Sample Items and GST)
CCTV jobs go wrong when the quotation hides details. Customers compare you with someone who quoted lower by leaving out cables, storage or installation. A clear itemised quote protects you and makes your price look fair.
Items to list separately
- Cameras: brand, type (dome or bullet), resolution (for example 4 MP), IR range, indoor or outdoor, and quantity.
- Recorder: DVR or NVR, number of channels and brand.
- Storage: hard disk size, and how many days of recording it supports.
- Network and power: PoE switch, power supplies, UPS.
- Cabling: type and length (for example Cat6 or coaxial), conduit and accessories.
- Display: monitor, if included.
- Installation and configuration: labour, mobile app setup, remote view.
- Extras: AMC, extra camera rate and any item that is not included.

Terms to include
- Warranty period for cameras and recorder, and what is excluded (physical damage, power surge).
- Payment: for example 50% advance and the balance on completion.
- Site readiness: customer to provide power points and access.
- Extra cable beyond the quoted length is charged per metre.
- Validity of the quote, as camera prices change.
